Biography
Associate Professor of Respiratory Diseases at the University of Florence and Director of the Training Programme in Interventional Pulmonology at the Careggi University Hospital. One of Italy's foremost interventional bronchoscopists, he has devoted his career to the development of bronchoscopic laser resection, stenting, and novel endoscopic technologies, and to establishing systematic competency frameworks for interventional pulmonology training. He directed the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (EABIP) as its Scientific and Website Director (2017–2019), and has been directing the Master Course in Interventional Pulmonology at the University of Florence since 2009 — Europe's most established postgraduate training programme in the field.
