Biography
Full Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Lille since 2008, and Head of the Heart, Lung and Vessels Division at the CHU Lille. A post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania shaped his career-long focus on thoracic oncology and pleural disease. He is the founder and coordinator of NETMESO, the French National Expert Multidisciplinary Network for malignant pleural mesothelioma, and was President of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig) from 2021 to 2025. He received the first-ever ERS Gold Medal in Lung Cancer in 2019, and is co-author of the ERS/ESTS/EACTS/ESTRO guidelines on pleural mesothelioma management. He is also actively involved in France's national lung cancer screening pilot programme. Author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications.
