Biography
Dr. Tudor Toma is a Romanian-born pulmonologist and researcher with over two decades of experience in interventional bronchoscopy, airway diagnostics, and acute respiratory care. He graduated from the University of Medicine in Iași in 1993 and trained as a pulmonology resident before moving to London in 2000. At Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College, he completed his PhD in Interventional Bronchoscopy — his doctoral thesis introduced the first minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for emphysema via endoscopic lung volume reduction. Since 2007 he has been practising as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in London, with a special focus on complex airway diseases, bedside ultrasound, and advanced bronchoscopy. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Romanian Journal of Pulmonology and a contributor to evidence-based public education in both Romania and the Romanian community in the UK.
