Dr. Raluca Bercea is a seasoned pulmonologist and internal medicine specialist, with advanced expertise in sleep medicine, non-invasive ventilation, and respiratory physiology. She is currently Chief of the Pneumology Department at Ploiești County Emergency Hospital and also serves as an Associate Lecturer at the Faculty of Midwifery and Nursing, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest.

With over a decade of international and national clinical experience—including in Norway and France—Dr. Bercea brings a global perspective to respiratory care. She holds competencies in Sleep Medicine (Levels I & II) and Non-Invasive Ventilation, and earned her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2024.

Dr. Bercea is actively involved in clinical research, having participated in over 20 international clinical trials in pulmonology, oncology, and pulmonary hypertension. She is a regular speaker at national and international congresses and has authored numerous scientific papers on obstructive sleep apnea and hormonal disturbances.

At Breathe 2025, Dr. Bercea will present on current perspectives in sleep-disordered breathing and the integration of non-invasive ventilation in clinical practice.
