Prof. Dr. Ivan Kopitović is a renowned pulmonologist, researcher, and educator, specializing in obstructive lung diseases, sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), and critical care medicine. He is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Pulmonology at the University of Novi Sad – Faculty of Medicine and a leading specialist at the Institute for Pulmonary Diseases of Vojvodina (IPDV), Serbia.
With over two decades of experience in ICU, high-dependency units, lung function testing, and sleep medicine, Prof. Kopitović is at the forefront of clinical research and patient care. He currently serves as Head of the Department for Lung Pathophysiology with the Sleep Medicine Lab at IPDV, where he focuses on advancing diagnostics and treatment strategies.
An accomplished author and researcher, he has contributed to over 250 publications in national and international journals and has been a Principal Investigator in multiple clinical trials on asthma, COPD, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and sleep disorders.
