Dr. Ion Gheorghe Petrovai is a medical doctor, public health educator, and health innovation consultant, with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of medicine, business, and technology. He is the Co-Founder and Director of Innovation at FreshBlood HealthTech, a key platform supporting health startups in Romania and part of Asociația INIT.

After graduating from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Dr. Petrovai worked with several multinational companies before dedicating his career to supporting tech-powered healthcare solutions. Since 2016, he has championed startup development, medical innovation ecosystems, and digital transformation in health.

He currently serves as Adjunct Professor at the Department of Public Health at Babeș-Bolyai University, and is the Ecosystem Development Director at HIVE – Health Innovation Center, contributing to long-term strategies that connect academia, entrepreneurs, and medical professionals.

A Starship Biodesign Fellow of EITHealth, angel investor, and startup advisor, Dr. Petrovai brings a unique blend of clinical insight and visionary business acumen to Breathe 2025.
