Lecturer in Pulmonology @ University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova
Dr. Cristina Călărașu is a seasoned pulmonologist, academic, and researcher, known for her work in tuberculosis, sleep-disordered breathing, respiratory rehabilitation, and post-COVID-19 care. She is currently a Consultant Pulmonologist at Spitalul Leamna Dolj and Lecturer in Pulmonology at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Călărașu has earned national recognition for her contributions to clinical research, having served as study coordinator or sub-investigator in more than 15 international clinical trials, covering asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and bronchiectasis. Her PhD research focused on tuberculosis in HIV-positive patients, and she is actively involved in numerous academic and professional networks.
Dr. Călărașu holds additional competencies in bronchoscopy and sleep medicine (M1 & M2) and is co-founder and former secretary of the 9G Section of the Romanian Society of Pulmonology. She has delivered over 120 presentations at national and international conferences, authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, and is passionate about integrating telemedicine and mental health support into pulmonary care.
At Breathe 2025, she will present on metabolic syndrome and asthma.
